WORKS

Selected projects at KISD

I got a chance to study abroad in Cologne, Germany while 2011 - 2012. My experience working with international guys for two semesters was really amazing, even though communicate in other language;English and German was hard. The system of projects and lectures at KISD is unique, also quite different from the one at Kyushu University. I've never spent that long time for projects with colleagues from the team in Japan. Happily, I could join and finished several projects there and here is a result.
Oh, by the way one of the best design I did there was latte macchiato at the cafe "Gute Stube". It took me almost 1 year to get the point to make good foam of milk..

- Design Process arranged by Lea for the presentation

This brochure was designed as a protype book for Roemisch-Germanisches Museum Koeln to help elementary school students studying about history. Book design was done by my groupmates; Lea and Sebastian. I concentrated to the cover illustration.

- Cover design
We chose a historical tower as a main element for the front cover. First I illustrated a whole tower then devided it into brick shaped parts.

“Show me!” is a visual book for product designers. It allows designers from different back grounds and countries work together without language problems. Originally this book is inspired by “Point It” - the original picture dictionary by Dieter Graf.

This set of booklets has seven aspects of the design process; Management and Communication, Target Group, Product Criteria, Styles, Material and Tools, Product, and Product Add-ons.

Joy and I worked together for “Product Add-ons” process.

- Ideas how to tell meanings only by images
To tell what exactly you want to say by using only images is more difficult than imagined. In the upper figure, I tried to tell "Possible or Impossible", "Rough or Smooth", "Open or Close", "To combine", "Feelings", and "Deadline". OR, it's also possible I meant something different!
